CIMA MRes Student wins poster prize at CIMA/CMAR Joint Conference

Well done to Ifigeneia Giakoumaki for winning the prize for best poster at the CIMA/CMAR Joint Conference 2015.

Ifigeneia is a student at the University of Liverpool currently undertaking the CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing. Her poster presentation, entitled ‘maternal protein intake as a determinant of the total number of motor units and muscle fibres in mice,’ was evaluated by a panel of five academics on categories including clarity of content, layout and appearance, and ability to answer questions asked about the research on display, and was judged to be the highest scoring poster submitted by students and academics from CIMA. Ifigeneia was presented with the prize by Professor Janet Lord, Director of the MRC/ Arthritis Research UK Centre for Musculoskeletal Ageing Research (CMAR), and Professor Malcolm Jackson, Director of the MRC/ Arthritis Research UK Centre for Integrated research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA).
