MRC Festival of Medical Research Events 20/21/23 June

Events - June 13th 2018

CIMA is participating in this years MRC Festival of Medical Research with a number of events taking place in Newcastle, Sheffield and Liverpool to showcase how CIMA research is contributing to understanding how and why our bones, joints and muscles function less well as we age and why older people develop clinical diseases of these musculoskeletal tissues, such as arthritis, osteoporosis or age-related muscle fibrosis.

CIMA research is involved with three events, details as below. These events are free to attend, please come along!

My joints – in health and disease

Wednesday 20th June, 1.30pm – 4pm, Baddiley-Clark Building, Newcastle University

'My Bones and Joints - in health and disease'

Thursday 21st June, 1.30pm – 4pm, Lecture Theatre 3, Medical School, University of Sheffield.

Meet the Scientist – Using science to fix our bodies

Saturday 23rd June, 10am - 4pm, World Museum, Liverpool

Our bodies are fascinating and complex machines, but what happens when parts of the machine stop working? Come and explore how research is helping us fix and improve our bodies, from our feet to our eyes, helping us live longer, healthier lives.
