National Joint Registry - Patient Decision Support Tool

News - April 1st 2019

This Joint Replacement Decision Aid was built by the University of Sheffield and University of Bristol with support from the NJR and Arthritis Research UK.

The aid uses a series of questions to gain an understanding of the risks and benefits joint surgery may have for a patient. Using information such as age, weight and levels of pain experienced while undertaking daily activities, the tool generates a final score which highlights the estimated outcome and risks of hip and knee joint replacement surgery.
